Privacy Policy

FamTrip3 helps families see where everyone is and plan outings together. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Alexander Abreu and Lissette Angomas Technologies LLC, doing business as AALA Technologies™, a Wyoming limited liability company (“we”) runs FamTrip3.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), the year you were born and, if you add one, your profile photo. We ask for the year only to set up the right kind of account (see “Children and kid accounts”); nobody in your circles sees it. When you create an account with an email, we send a link to confirm it’s yours; until you confirm it, you can’t create or join a circle.
- Your location: only while “Share my location” is on. We keep your latest position, speed and battery level so your circle can see them, and a location history so you can see your trips. If you allow location “Always”, the app keeps sharing when it’s closed; iOS shows the location indicator while it does.
- Your circles: who you share with, the places you save (like Home or School), arrivals and departures at those places, and the names you write when you send an invite link (like “Grandma Rosa”), so you can see who joined.
- Place suggestions: from your own location history, the app may suggest saving the place where you spend most nights or weekdays (“Save as Home?”). Only you see these suggestions, places recorded while you were private are never used, and nothing is saved unless you tap Save.
- Your plans: the plans you make, their stops, comments, and the days you live them.
- Fam AI: your conversations with Fam AI, voice messages you choose to send, and the facts Fam AI remembers about your family. You can see and delete what it remembers in Settings. We also note which kinds of places you keep or remove from plans, so Fam AI suggests better ones next time.
- Your phone: an identifier, model and system version for each phone you sign in from (so we can warn you about a sign-in from a new phone and show you where you’re signed in), the token used to send you notifications, and crash reports when the app closes unexpectedly.
- Purchases: your FamTrip3 Plus or Pro subscription status, through RevenueCat. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card.
We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use your location for anything other than running FamTrip3 for you and your circle.
Who can see it
Your location, battery and arrivals are visible only to the people in the circles where you are visible. If you go private in a circle, or turn sharing off, they stop seeing you. Nobody outside your circles can see where you are, and your profile photo is shown only to people who share a circle with you.
Services we use
To run the app we send the minimum needed to these providers, who process it on our behalf:
- OpenAI — to understand your plan requests, chat with Fam AI and transcribe voice messages, and to screen what people post in a circle (names, comments, pins and profile photos) for content that breaks our Terms. OpenAI doesn’t use this data to train its models.
- Google Places — to check that the places in your plans exist, with their details and photos.
- Mapbox — routes, traffic and turn-by-turn directions.
- TomTom — traffic incidents on your route.
- U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) — the list of recent earthquakes. We only download it; nothing about you is sent.
- National Weather Service (weather.gov) and Apple Weather — the weather where you and your circle are, the forecast for your plans and severe weather alerts.
- Resend — to send account emails: welcome, password codes and security notices (a password change or a sign-in from a new phone).
- Apple — app distribution, maps on iPhone, Sign in with Apple, notifications and purchases.
- Google — Sign in with Google, maps on Android and notifications on Android (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Expo — delivers notifications and app updates.
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play.
How long we keep it
Your latest position is replaced each time it updates and is deleted when you turn sharing off. Location history is kept for a limited time depending on your plan. Everything else is kept while your account exists.
Your choices
- Turn location sharing off, or go private in a circle, at any time. For kid accounts, the parents in the circle manage this.
- See and delete what Fam AI remembers about you.
- See who can see you in Settings: each person, in each circle, and what they see.
- See where you’re signed in in Settings → Security, and sign out any phone you don’t recognize. Every sign-in is tied to the phone it came from, and we email you when your account is opened on a new one.
- Download your data in Settings → Security. To make sure it’s you, we first email you a code; then we email you a file with your account, circles, location history, trips, plans, Fam AI chats and memory, and the rest of what we keep about you. Only your own data, never anyone else’s.
- Delete your account from Settings, or ask for it at famtrip3.com/delete-account. It deletes your data; circles you created are handed to a parent in the circle (or, if there is none, another adult) so your family keeps them. A circle with no other adult is deleted with your account.
- Report and block: you can report anything someone posts and block a person. Reports go to our team, who review them within 24 hours.
Children and kid accounts
FamTrip3 is for the whole family, with no age limit. The limits are on kid accounts. Each circle is run by the person who created it, the organizer, who can name other adults as parents. When someone asks to join, the organizer or a parent says whether they’re an adult or a kid, and anyone not marked as an adult counts as a kid. Kid accounts can see the adults but only see other kids if the parents allow it. Kids can’t go private, turn sharing off in the app, block a parent or leave the circle on their own — their parents manage that, and a rule that keeps two kids apart in one circle applies in every circle they share. Locations recorded while someone is in private mode are never shown to the circle later. Before anyone joins a circle as a kid, the organizer or a parent confirms that they are the child’s parent or legal guardian and gives permission, in the app, for us to process the child’s location and share it with the authorized members of the circle; we keep a record of who gave it and when. The Parents’ Notice explains what we collect about a child. When you create an account we ask the year you were born, without saying where the limits are. Children under 13 can’t create an account on their own: they may use FamTrip3 only through a family circle managed by a parent or guardian, who invites and approves them and gives this permission on their behalf. People under 18 can’t create circles or be marked as an adult or a parent. We don’t show ads to anyone and don’t sell anyone’s data. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child’s account at any time, email us at legal@aalatechnologies.com.
